HomeMy WebLinkAboutNew Business #1 6-15-87TO: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUBJECT: AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR MANUFACTURE AND DELIVERY OF REINFORCED CONCRETE PIPE FOR TUSTIN RANCH PROJECT, A.D.No. 85-1 · RECOMMENDATION: For the City Council meeting of June 15, 1987. It is recommended that the City Council award the contract to Hydro Conduit Corporation Corona, in the amount of $703,435.25 for the subject project. BACKGROUND: Three bids were received at the bid opening on June 2, 1987. They are summarized as follows: FIRM BID PRICE DELIVERY TIME Hydro Conduit Corp.,Corona $ 703,435.25 70 - 112 days Ameron, Inc.,Monterey Park 768,522.53 98 - 133 days United Concrete Pipe, Baldwin Park 801,370.92 49 - 74 days The low bid is 7.8% over the engineer's estimate of $652,761 which is within an acceptable range. Hydro Conduit% delivery time also meets project schedule requirements. Project funding is by Assessment District 85-1 bond proceeds ($694,798.68) and. Irvine Company funds ($8,636.57).
