SUBJECT:
WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMeNT/ENGINEERING DIVISION
EASTERN TRANSPORTATION CORRIDOR ANALYSIS
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Tustin City Council at their meeting
of May 16, 1988
authorize a supplemental budget appropriation in the amount of
$9,825.00 from general fund monies to fund Tustin's share of the final
cost of the Eastern Transportation Corridor Analysis being performed
by the Cities of Tustin, Irvine, and Orange, and the Irvine Company.
BACKGROUND:
The cities of Tustin, Irvine and Orange (TIO), and the Irvine Company
have completed the Supplemental Transportation Planning and
Engineering Analysis for the Eastern Transportation Corridor. As a
part of this study, elements were added to address the
concerns/desires of the Homeowners Coalition Group which were not
previously defined in the original scope of work.
The City Council has previousi~budgeted amounts of $35,300 and
$10,150 for a total of $45,150~
DISCUSSION:
Each of the TIO cities and the Irvine Company had agreed to fund the
study on an equal share basis (25% each agency). The final cost of
the study has been defined as $219,900 which results in a per agency
share of $54,975 and a shortfall of $9,825 of budgeted funds for the
city of Tustin.
In order to make final payment on Tustin's share of the study cost, it
will be necessary for the City Council to authorize a supplemental
budget appropriation in the amount of $9,825.00 from general fund
monies for fiscal year 1987-88.
The TIO cities have petitioned the Transportation Corridor Agencies
for reimbursement for all expenditures incurred by each city agency on
this analysis.
