BACKGROUND: At present time, the Water Division is using a CRT belonging to the Finance Department. The Finance Department has indicated a need for this unit. In order for the Water Department to process information in the proper fo£m, the format must be compatible with the mainframe computer. The Hewlett Packard 150 transfer meets this requirement. The Field Services office presently utilizes a Macintosh computer which has the capability to interface with the Hewlett Packard 3000 mainframe. The Macintosh system also integrates other major functions such as fuel monitoring, equipment inventory, and routine office requirements. The letter quality printer will complete the Field Services complement of automated office equipment. The estimated depreciated value of the Hewlett Packard 150 computer together with printer and software is $1,586.57. This is based on original costs depreciated by straight line method over five years. The cost of a Macintosh compatible letter quality printer is $3,450.00 plus tax. Ail costs can be funded from Operations funding in both Water Division and Public works, thus no supplemental appropriations will be required.
