REPORT ON BUSINESS - FRANCO'S INTERIORS AT 620 W. MAIN STREET
RECOMMENDATION
Receive and file.
BACKGROUND
Mr. Francois Conrad, the owner of Francois Interiors at 620 W. Main Street,
approached the City Council at their meeting on May 16th with concerns about the
status of her current business license.
Francois Interiors is currently a licensed home occupation in the City. In
response to complaints, Ms. Conrad was asked by Community Development staff to
comply with provisions of the City's Home Occupation Ordinance. In conversations
with staff she agreed to comply in the future with all home occupation requirements
(see attached correspondence sent by the Department}.

This ts a follo~.-up to our conversation on Tuesday, May 17, 1988 about your
business Francois Interiors. The Ctty has issued a Home Occupation business
11tense to you. Unfortunately, we have had a number of recent complaints about
your lns~alling a stgn and there being considerable pedestrian and vehicle traffic
and parking for the business on the stte. Please see the attached Ordinance
requirements for Home 0ccupatton. Your current business license ts actfve, but we
would appreciate your sensitivity to your neighbors complaints and compliance wtth
the Ordinance. In our conversations you also agreed to eliminate the map and
address In your recent newspaper advertisement.

ORDINANCE NO. 330
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE ZONING
ORDINANCE TO ALLOW NOME OCCUPATIONS.
Section 11.24 Nome Occupation is hereby amended to read as follows:
An Occupation carried on wholly within a dwelling by an occupant of
the dwelling, as a secondary-use, in connection with which there is:
'No person employed who is not a resident of the premises, no.extertor
display, no stock-in-trade or commodity sold upon the premises, no
mechanical or electrical equipment used except such as is customary
for housekeeping purposes, no outside operations or storage, no
alteration of the residential a~pearance of the premises, jo siqns
d~splayed, no activity conducted which is hazardous to the health,.
safety or welfare of the general public, or which emits smoke, dust,
fumes,'odors, vibrations, glare or electrical disturbances onto any
other premises, no activity which aenerates excessive pedestrian~
~_raffic or vehicular ~raffic qr oarkinq in excess of that otherwise
normally foup~ in the zone, no parking or use made of any vehicle over'
-~/4 ton carryihg capacity, no parkin~ in the front yard, driveway or
immediately adjacent to the~remises Of' any vehicle bearing any sign,
identification or advertisement of the home occupation.
