DISCUSSION: Per our agreement with Great Western Reclamation for the collection and transportation of solid waste refuse, revised collection rates have been authorized effective July 1, 1987. The revised adjustment factors are attached as Schedule C and the revised collection rates are attached as Schedule A. The weighted average increase is 3.34%. The new residential rate is $5.48, $0.13 higher than 86/87. Based on the latest, June 9,1987, County GSA Rate Survey, the new rate is 5% less than the Orange · County Cities average of $5.'77 and 16% less than the County rate of $6.51. · A Public Hearing will be held at the August 3 Council meeting to. receive public comments regarding' proposed single family residential solid waste collection fees to be placed on the tax roll. The proposed rates will be submitted prior to this hearing.
