WILLINI HUSTON, CITY MANAGER
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARll4ENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION
EL F~0DENA-IRVINE CHANNEL {FACILITY F07) - FILE 41208
On June 30, 1986, on the recommendation of staff, the City Council rejected all
'bids pertaining to Phase I of the E1 Modena-Irvine Channel improvements on the
-basis that the low bid was 39+% above the Engineer's estimate. At the time of bid
rejection, staff had indicate~that the project scope would be expanded to include
both Phase I and Phase II and that it was the intent to re-advertise at the
earliest practical date.
Staff is currently working on the plan/specification package foF re-bidding. It
is anticipated that the bid package will be completed for the July 7, 1986 City
Council meeting,, at which time, the staff report and Resolution will be dispersed
to the Council. In the event this work cannot be completed for the July 7th
meeting, staff will request a special meeting for either Thursday, July lOth, or
Friday, July 11th. In the event this item is delayed until July 10th or 11th, a
verbal request will be made at the July 7th meeting.
The need for this special meeting would also coincide with the need for a special
meeting to take action on the East Tus~in Assessment District.No. 85-1 changes.
