DECLN~ATION OF SURPLUS EQUIPHENTA3iD AUllIORIT_ATION TO AUCTION SAJ4E
RECOMMENDATION:
Request the Tustin City Council, at their regular meeting of August 4, 1986, to
declare the below listed rolling stock/vehicles as surplus and authorize same to
be sold by Porter Auction.
BACKGROUND:
Each year, rolling stock/vehicles are evaluated in order that timely replacements
can be made. In fiscal 1985-86, Council authorized replacement of the following
City units: 1) Unit 3425, 1978 Caprice - Police Department; 2) Unit 3416, 1979
Mercury Marquis - Police Department; 3) Unit 3403, 1982 Impala - Police
Department; 4) Unit 3401, 1982 Impala Police Department; 5) Unit 5601, 1975
Dodge Pick-Up - Public Works Department; 6) Unit 5622, 1974 Chevrolet Pick-Up -
Public Works Department; 7) Unit 5626, 1975 E1 Camino - Public Works Department;
8) Unit 5607, 1964 International Tractor - Public Works Department; 9) Unit 5613,
1979 John Deere Tractor Mower - Public Works Department. These units have now
been replaced thus creating the surplus. In order for the City to sell the
surplus rolling stock/vehicles, Council must infact declare them as surplus
equipment. It is further requested that Council authorize the surplus equipment
to be sold by Porter Auction as in the past.
