TUSTIN HEIGHTS SHOPPING CENTER ENll~ANCE WODIFICATION AT
IRVINE BLVD. AND OLD IRVINE BLVD. - INFORI~TION REPORT
RECOMMENDATION:
For the City Council meeting of September 2, 1986.
Receive and file.
BACKGROUND:
At their August 18, 1986 meeting, the City Council requested an update of the
status of the entrance modifications to the Tustin Heights Shopping Center at
Irvine Blvd. and Old Irvine Blvd. This particular project has been in the
planning stage for the past two-three years.
As a result of Mayor Saltarelli's letter of May 28, 1986, the City was contacted
by Ms. Leslie Ammerman with Rreef Corporation, owners of the shopping center. The
City's previous contact with Rreef Corporation was Mr. Chuck Holden who is no
longer with the firm.
DISCUSSION:
As a result of the change in personnel, Rreef Corporation is in the process of
updating their files. It has been established that the following items need to be
resolved prior to commencing with any work:
1. Contractor to review and update their bid to reflect current prices.
2. Execution of right-of-way easement by Rreef Corporation in favor of
the City of Tustin.
3. Execution of Reimbursement Agreement between Rreef Corporation and
City for said work within respective jurisdictions.
One major concern of both Rreef Corporation and one of their tenants is the loss
of approximately ten parking spaces. It was pointed out to Rreef Corporation that
this layout and parking loss was considered two-three years ago when the shopping
center was reconstructed.

Ms. Ammerman indicated that Rree% Corporation will have the easement and
Reimbursement Agreement executed once they have received the verification of the
bids from R.j. Noble Co. Ms. Ammerman has been very responsive to the City's
concerns and has indicated that Rreef Corporation is very anxious to commence
construction.
