J RECOMMENDATION: To approve Resolution 86-111, amending and updating the City's Conflict of Interest Codes. BACKGROUND: In reviewing the City of Tustin Conflict of Interest Codes, it was found that the list of designated employees needed updating. Many positions have been eliminated since the resolution was adopted in 1981, and several positions have been changed or added. In order for the list to be up-to-date, it is recommended that the Council approve the attached Resolution. This is strictly a house-keeping matter regarding designated employees. City Council members, Planning Commission members, City Attorney and staff, City Manager and other "Chief Administrative Officers" are required to file Conflict of Interest statements pursuant to provisions of the Government Code itself, rather than pursuant to designations by the City or its departments. Individuals in these positions file slightly different statements than other designated employees. The a:tached Resolution was drafted by the City Attorney's office, in order that the Resolution be kept up-to-date. Royleen A. White, Director Community and Administrative Services kaw Attachment 1 2 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 86-111 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ITS RESOLUTION NO. 81-61 TO MODIFY THE DESIGNATED EMPLOYEES CONTAINED IN THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODES OF THE DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN The City Council of the City of Tustin, California, does hereby RESOLVE as follows: Section [: The City Council finds and determines that Appendix "A" of the Conflict of Interest Codes of the Departments of the City of Tustin, approved by the City Council in its Resolution No. 81-61, should be modified and brought up to date. Section 2: The City Council hereby approves a new Appendix "A", attached hereto, and directs that Resolution No. 81-61 be modified accordingly. Section 3: Pursuant to Section 2.3 of the Conflict of Interest Codes of the Departments of the City of Tustin, the City Council, as the Code-reviewing body, hereby instructs all designated employees required to file Statements of Economic Interests, to file such Statements with the City Clerk of the City of Tustin. PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, held on this 15th day of September , 1986.
