FISCAL 1986-87
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolution 86-128 setting the appropriations limit for fiscal 1986-87 at
$14,277,771.
DISCUSSION
We are required by law as a result of the Gann Initiative-Proposition 4, to
annually adopt a limit on appropriations for governmental funds. The basis of
this limitation is the relationship between proceeds of tax and total
appropriations. The base year was 1978-79 and limits are allowed to grow
based on the annual increased population and CPI/or per capita personal
income.
As you can see on schedule A we are well within our limit for fiscal 87.
