STOP SIGN INSTALLATION AT SYCA~IORE AVENUE AJ(D ALDER LANE
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that Council adopt the attached Resolution calling for the
installation of stop signs at the subject intersection.
BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to a citizen request, the desirability of installing a stop sign at the
.Sycamore/Alder intersection was evaluated. The criteria used in the evaluation
centered primarily on a review of the area by the City Traffic Engineer,
discussions with residents most affected by the stop sign, and a desire by staff
to provide safe intersection operation/usage by vehicles and pedestrians.
DISCUSSION:
The intersection is situated in the center of a relatively long segment of Alder
Lane. Since vehicular speeds are generally higher under this condition, and given
the high usage of the intersection by children, it is appropriate to install a
stop sign at this location.

RESOLUTION NO. 86-136
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING PLACEMENT OF CERTAIN STOP SIGNS
(SYCAMORE AVE. AND ALDER LANE)
The City Council of the City of Tustin, California does hereby resolve as
follows:
Stop signs for Sycamore Avenue and Alder Lane are hereby designated as
authorized stop signs in the City of Tustin.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Tustin, California,'held on the day of , 1986.
