SUBJECT: 1988-89 ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM (AHFP) PROJECTS
(INFORMATIONAL REPORT)
RECOMMENDATION
Receive and file.
BACKGROUND:
n --N tember of each year the County of Orange A.H.F.P, requests the cities to
submit applications for laboratory analysis of the soils and the determination of
the street pavement structural sections for each of the next year's potential
A.H.F.P, projects.
By December 31st of each year, each city is required to submit a formal project
,pplication for each of their respective projects for the following fiscal year.
DISCUSSION:
TF-15--t-Fe-staff's intention to submit three candidate projects for the 1988-89
fiscal year as'follows:
1. First Street widening and reconstruction between the Route 55 Freeway and
the westerly City limits. This project would be inclusive of a new
traffic signal at the intersection. Right-of-way acquisition along First
Street would be required.
2. Yorba Street widening between First Street and Irvine Blvd. Right-of-way
acquisition along both sides of Yorba Street would be required.
3. Yorba Street widening on the westerly side between 1301 feet northerly of
Laurie Lane to Leafwood Lane. Right-of-way acquisition would be required
on this project.
It is also intended to request the County of Orange to extend this widening
northerly to Santa Clara Ave on the westerly side.
No specific City Council action is required at this time. This report is
informational only.
