PROPOSED EVENINGSIDE/RAINBOW ANNEXATION NO. 139
RECOI~ENDATION:
Authorize staff to advertise a public hearing for February 2, 1987 on the
City Council's intent to adopt a resolution as application for the
Eveningside/Rainbow Annexation No. 139.
PROJECT ANALYSIS:
A letter of request for annexation to the City of Tustin has been ~eceived
from thirty four property owners in an area bounded by Irvine Boulevard on
the south, Browning Avenue on the west, La Colina on the north and the
Irvine Ranch on the east.
This area may be annexed pursuant to the annexation procedures of the
Cortese/Knox Government Reorganization Act of 1985. These procedures
require the City Council to advertise a public hearing on its intent to
adopt a resolution making application to the Local Agency Formation
Commission for annexation. The Local Agency Formation Commission makes
findings related to compliance of the proposed annexation with the code
requirements and refers the proposals back to the original conducting
authority. If protests are filed with the City Clerk that represent less
than 50% of the registered voters of the area, the annexation to the City
is ordered by the City Council.
