That the City Council find that the three (3) vehicles, as detailed in this report, are not required for public use and that they be declared as surplus vehicles. BACKGROUND: Section 1626a(2) of City of Tustin Ordinance No. 871 discusses the disposition of property and requires the purchasing agent to make a written estimate of the value of any surplus items not useable by the City or not required for public use. Further, the City Council must find that these surplus items are not required for public use and after said finding, the purchasing agent shall have the authority to sell all such items in accordance with Section 1625c and Section 1625d of Ordinance No. 871, whichever is applicable. DISCUSSION: Staff is proposing to sell three (3) vehicles at the next available auction. These vehicles are surplus and are no longer in use by the City due to routine rotation/replacement of vehicles. BACKGROUND: When adopting the 1986-87 Fiscal Budget, Council authorized the replacement of a Water Department dump truck from the vehicle leasing fund. Four bids were mailed and three bids were returned.
