Award the contract for subject project to $317,747.00. K.E.C. Company in the amount of BACKGROUND: This project encompasses construction of a storm drain in Parkcenter Lane and an easement from the E1 Modena-Irvine FO7 Channel northerly and connecting to an existing storm drain at the southerly boundary of Tract No. 6628, per Agreement D85-153 between the City of Tustin and the County of Orange. This project will be administered by the City of Tustin and will be financed through Assessment District 85-1 proceedings. DISCUSSION: The bid opening for this project was February 24, 1987 at 10:30 a.m. and fourteen bids were received. The low bid of $317,747.00 is 13.9% under the Engineer's estimate of $369,000.00. Attached, for the City Council's information, is a tabulation of the bids received.
