REPLACEMENT OF A TRACTOR MOWER
RECOMMENDATION:
Request the Tustin City Council, at their regular meeting of November 4, 1985, to
authorize a supplemental appropriation of $10,000.00 from the vehicle leasing fund
to replace a tractor mower.
BACKGROUND:
The Park Division utilizes a small tractor mower for mowing in the parks. The
1979 John Deere mower currently used was scheduled to.be replaced in fiscal
1986-87, however, mechanical problems have developed. The estimated cost of
repair is between $2,500.00 and $3,000.00. These repairs would only extend the
life of the equipment for one to two years. Staff feels that repairing the mower
is not economically feasible in the long run.
Over the past two years, Parks Division has budgeted, in the vehicle leasing' fund,
$7,500.00 for the replacement of this unit. The additional funds required to
replace the mower at this time will be recouped in budget allotments to the
vehicle leasing fund in future budget years.
