ORDINANCE NO. 952
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
TUSTIN CITY CODE SECTION 5340d
(PARKING OFVEHICLE OVER 6,000 lbs.)
The City Council of the City of Tustin, California,
6 does hereby ordain as follows:
The City Council hereby finds and determines as
follows:
WHEREAS, the City has encountered difficulty in the
enforcement of illegal truck parking within the corporate
limits of the City; and
WHEREAS, on November 4, 1985, the City Council ordered
that Tustin City Code Section 5340d be amended to prohibit the
parking of any vehicle over 6,000 pounds for more than two
hours within the City so as to enable the enforcement of
truck parking to be better managed throughout the City.
Section 1: Section 5340d of the Tustin City Code shall
be revised to read as follows:
"d Parking of Commercial Vehicles.
No person shall stop, stand or park any
vehicle of an unladen weight of 6,000 pounds or
over on any public street, highway, thoroughfare
or alley for a period of more than two (2) conse-
cutive hours in any part of the City except:
(1) while loading or unloading property for
such time as is reasonably necessary to complete
said .work; or
(2) when such vehicle is parked in connection
with, and in aid of, the performance of a service
to or on a property in the block in which such
vehicle is parked, for a time reasonably necessary
to complete such service; provided, however, that
there shall be specifically excluded from the
provisions of this section pick-up trucks, panel
trucks, station wagons and limousines; (See Cali-
fornia Vehicle .Code Section 390 re weight ratings;
see Health and Safety Code Section 18255 regarding
parking of mobile homes); and provided further,
however, that upon a showing of special circum-
stances, the Police Department may grant a special
permit for parking for a period not to exceed 24
consecutive hours."
