HomeMy WebLinkAboutNB 2 PICK-UP-TRUCKS 12-02-85NEW BUSINESS TO: THRU: FROM: SUBJECT: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER BOB LEDENDECKER, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER MONDA BUCKLEY, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT AWARD OF BID FOR THREE (3) PICK-UP TRucKs - FILE #484 RECOMMENDATION: Request the Tustin City Council, at their regular meeting of December 2, 1985, to authorize the purchase, of three (3) pick-up trucks (one with utility bed) from Earnest Ford, Inc. of Orange for $36,632.02. BACKGROUND: The Tustin City Council authorized the replacement of three (3) 1/2 ton pick-ups with three (3) 3/4 ton pick-ups with utility beds (Units 5601, 5622, 5626) from the vehicle leasing fund when adopting the 1985-86 budget. The budget estimates for these three (3) pick-ups was $39,900.00. Before going out for bid, staff evaluated the changes in use of these three pick-ups and determined that only one of the three pick-ups would require a utility body. Seven bid packages were mailed out; and, two bids were submitted. Bids were as follows: Joe MacPherson Chevrolet Earnest Ford, Inc. Irvine Orange $34,496.41 (Total) $36,632.02 (Total) Low bidder did not meet minimum specifications for the pick-up trucks nor did they submit a complete specification for the utility bed for comparison.
