ORDINANCES FOR ADOPTION
NO. 1
2-18-86
Inter-Com
TO:
HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS
FROM:
COHMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTHENT
SUBJECT:
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS DISCLOSURE ORDINANCE AND IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
It is recommended that consideration of Draft Ordinance No. 964 be
continued to the March 3, 1986 Council meeting.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
On February 3, 1986 Draft Ordinance No. 964 pertaining to hazardous
materials disclosure had its first reading before Council. At that
meeting, Council concurred that the local business community should have
input before any disclosure ordinance or implementation plan be adopted.
On February 5, Community Development and Orange County Fire Department
staff met with the legislative committee of the Tustin Chamber of
Commerce. Several issues and concerns were raised at that meeting and the
Chamber committee expressed a desire to further review the proposed
ordinance. It is expected that the Chamber's comments will be forwarded to
staff prior to the March 3, 1986 Council meeting.
In an effort to address all relevant concerns, it is recommended that the
subject item be continued to the next regularly scheduled Council meeting.
