SUBJECT: RENEWAL OF THE MAINTENANCE UNIFORM CONTRACT
RECOMMENDATION:
Request the Tustin City Council, at their regular meeting of March 17, 1986, to
renew the maintenance uniform contract for an increased cost of five percent as
provided in the existing agreement.
BACKGROUND:
For several years, the City has provided uniforms for field maintenance
employees. Last year,~ Council awarded a two year contract to Mission Uniform of
Anaheim. The contract allows for an annual rate increase in accord with the
current Consumer Price Index {CPI). The company proposes to increase the rates
for the laundry service only. The new laundry rates will increase $.02: laundry
of shirts was $.41 each and will be $.43 each; laundry of trousers was $.41 each
and will be $.43 each. The replacement cost for lost or damaged uniforms will
remain the same. There will be no other changes to the. terms and conditions of
the existing contract.
Mission Uniform Company has submitted a letter of intent for the proposed increase
which will serve as the upgrade in contract for auditing purposes.
