I TO: HONORABLE HAYOR AND CZTY COUNCIL FROM: COfqFIUNZTY DEYELOPHENT DEPARTIqENT SUBJ EGT: HAZARDOUS HATERIALS DZSCLOSURE ORDZNANCE RECOIgqENDATZON: That the City Council continue the subject ordinance to its next regular meeting on April 7, 1986. DISCUSSION: On February 3, 1986, the City Council first read Ordinance No. 964 which would implement a Hazardous Materials Disclosure Program for the city of Tustin. Following consideration by the Council at its February 3rd meeting, the Chamber of Commerce wished to provide input and therefore sought a continuance of the second reading. The City Council then granted a continuance to allow the Chamber Legislative Committee to recommend proposed changes. Staff has been working with the Chamber Legislative Committee and attended several of their meetings. City Council last continued this item at its meeting on March 3rd to allow the .Legislative Committee to again meet on March 5, 1986. At that meeting the Legislative Committee formulated its final recommendations which were then forwarded to the Board of the Chamber of Commercemon March 12, 1986. Several of the changes recommended by the Chamber of Commerce require additional research and consideration by both city staff and the Orange County Fire Department. Staff discussed this subject with the Orange County Fire Department who concurs that another continuance of the second reading would be acceptable at this time. I~ON-~ED D.
