PLAN AHENDHENT 86-2e CITY OF TUSTIN 1800 SAN JUAN STREET FRO# (#F) HULTI-FAHILY TO (P&I) PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL ,../ RECOII~ENDED ACTION: Staff recommends that Council approve Resolution 86-42 adopting General Plan Amendment 86-2e. BACKGROUND: The subject site is occupied by The Church of Latter Day Saints. As a result of Annexation # 135, the Laguna/East Tustin Drive County island was incorporated into the City of Tustin. The proposed. General Plan Amendment will make the General Plan designation consistent with current land use. On March 10, 1986, Planning Commission considered General Plan Amendment 86-2f. Resolution 2312 was adopted recommending to City Council that this amendment be approved. DISCUSSION: The purpose of this General Plan Amendment is to bring General Plan and existing land use into conformance. There will be no change in land use of the property. The Church of Latter Day Saints is currently on the property at 1800 San Juan Street. Current General Plan designation is (MF) Multi-family. The appropriate designation would be (P&I) Public and Institutional CH:pf Attachments: Map Resolution 86-42 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 86-42 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN FOR 1800 SAN JUAN STREET The City Council of the City of Tustin does hereby resolve as follows: I. The City Council finds and determines as follows: Section 65356.1 of the Government Code of the State of California provides that when it is deemed to be in the public interest, the legislative body may amend a part of the General Plan. That in accordance with Section 65356 of the Government Code of the State of California, a public hearing was duly called, noticed and held on the application of the City of Tustin to reclassify the land use at'lBO0 San Juan Street from (MF) Multi-Family to (P&I) Public and Institutional. Shown on Exhibit A. - Ce That a Negative Declaration-has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act and is hereby recommended for adoption. De That a change in classification would be in the public interest and not detrimental to the welfare of the public or the surrounding property owners. II. The Planning Commission hereby recommends to the City Council that General Plan Amendment 86-2e be adopted, amending the Land Use Element for 1800 San Juan Street, as shown in Exhibit A.
