AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE TWO TRAILER MOUNTED ARROW BOARDS
RECOMMENDATION:
'Request the Tusttn City Council, at their regular meeting of April 7, 1986, to
authorize the purchase of two (2) trailer mounted arrow boards from
Starlite/Blinkerlite Safety Supply Company of La Mirada for $7,146.16 for the
Water Operation Division.
BACKGROUND:
When adopting the 1986-86 Fiscal Budget, Council authorized the purchase of two
trailer mounted arrow boards for the Water Operations Division. The arrow boards
provide for safety o~ vehicular and pedestrian traffic as well as the safety of
City personnel. Since the original request was submitted, State law has changed
thus mandating the purchase of a different sized arrow board from that which wa~
budgeted. The original budget estimate was $4,000.00. There will be no need for
additional appropriation to this division's capital outlay funding as another
capital expense was purchased for considerably less than what was appropriated.
Three bid packages were mailed; one package was submitted. The non-submitting
agencies were quieried as to their reason for not submitting a bid; both companies
replied they had overlooked the bid opening date.
The bid submitted was as follows:
