HomeMy WebLinkAboutNB 10 ARROW BOARDS 04-07-86AGENDA NEW BUSINESS NO. 10 4-7-86 DAT TO: T~IRU: FROM: SUBJECT: MARCH 29, 1986 Inter- Com WILLIAMHUSTON, CITY MANAGER BOB L£DENDECKER, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC woRKs/CITY ENGINEER MONDA BUCKLEY, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE TWO TRAILER MOUNTED ARROW BOARDS RECOMMENDATION: 'Request the Tusttn City Council, at their regular meeting of April 7, 1986, to authorize the purchase of two (2) trailer mounted arrow boards from Starlite/Blinkerlite Safety Supply Company of La Mirada for $7,146.16 for the Water Operation Division. BACKGROUND: When adopting the 1986-86 Fiscal Budget, Council authorized the purchase of two trailer mounted arrow boards for the Water Operations Division. The arrow boards provide for safety o~ vehicular and pedestrian traffic as well as the safety of City personnel. Since the original request was submitted, State law has changed thus mandating the purchase of a different sized arrow board from that which wa~ budgeted. The original budget estimate was $4,000.00. There will be no need for additional appropriation to this division's capital outlay funding as another capital expense was purchased for considerably less than what was appropriated. Three bid packages were mailed; one package was submitted. The non-submitting agencies were quieried as to their reason for not submitting a bid; both companies replied they had overlooked the bid opening date.
