PROPOSED. STREET NANE CHAN~E - NOULTON PARKWAY TO EDINGER AVENUE
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Pleasure of the City Council.
BACKGROUND:
At their April 7, 1986 meeting, the City Council requested staff to investigate
the feasibility of renaming Moulton Parkway between Red Hill Avenue and Harvard
Avenue (the City's easterly City limit). This would .provide name continuity from
the Costa Mesa Freeway (Route 55) to Harvard Avenue through the City of Tustin.
DISCUSSION:
A field review of Moulton Parkway easterly of Red Hill Avenue revealed that the. re
are eleven business units addressed on Moulton Parkway as follows:
° 1542A through 1542F (Koll Business Center Development)
° 1622A and 1622B (Koll Business Center Development)
° 1652A and 1652B (Koll Business Center Development)
° 1702 (Vacant structure easterly of Koll Business Center)
The City Council is authorized, pursuant to Government Code Section 34091.1, to
change the existing name of a City street whenever the Council finds that the name
should be changed. In order to implement a change of street name, the City
Council should proceed as follows:
A public hearing relative to the name change of Moulton Parkway, between
Red Hill Avenue and Harvard Avenue, to Edinger Avenue should be
authorized.

A public hearing should be duly noticed and held relative t6 this street
name change. After consideration of testimony at the public hearing, the
City Council should determine whether or not to change the designation of
Moulton Parkway, between Red Hill Avenue and Harvard Avenue, to Edinger
Avenue.

In the event the Council resolves to change the street name, the City
Clerk shall promptly forward a copy of the Resolution providing for the
change of name to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange.

The attached Resolution declares the City Council's i~tention to conduct a public
hearing to determine whether or not to change the street name designation of
Moulton Parkway to Edinger Avenue between Red Hill Avenue and Harvard Avenue.
This Resolution also establishes the public hearing time and date for said name
change to be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 1986. If the City Council desires to
proceed with the name change, the attached Resolution should be passed and
adopted. Additionally, a copy of the Resolution should be mailed to each business
and/or property owner addressed on Moulton Parkway.

RESOLUTION NO. 86-52
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE INTENTION TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC
HEARING TO DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT TO CHANGE THE DESIGNA-
TION OF MOULTON PARKWAY, BETWEEN RED HILL AVENUE AND
HARVARD AVENUE, TO EDINGER AVENUE
The City Council of the City of Tustin, California does hereby resolve as
follows:
1. The City Council hereby finds and determines the following:
A. That there has been a proposal to rename a certain street in the
City of Tustin.
B. That a public hearing should be duly called, noticed and held on
said proposal.
C. That to change the name and designation of Moulton Parkway,
between Red Hill Avenue and Harvard Avenue, to Edinger Avenue, has been
proposed to be in the best interests of the City of Tustin and of its citizens
and residents, and should be done.
2. The City Council. hereby authorizes a public hearing concerning the
renaming and designation of Moulton Parkway, between Red Hill Avenue and
Harvard Avenue, to Edinger Avenue, to be conducted on May 19, 1986 at 7:00
