RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council,
the contract for subject project to S.A.
amount of $684,073.50.
at their meeting of May 5, 1986, award
Healy Co. of Azusa, California in the
BACKGROUND:
This project encompasses extension of E1Camino Real from the easterly line of the
Tustin Auto Center to Myford Road including the construction of a bridge over the
proposed relocated E1 Modena-Irvine FO7 Channel. Per previous agreements, the
construction will consist of a two lane facility from the new bridge to Myford
Road. The bridge will be constructed to ultimate width to accommodate four travel
lanes.
Sealed bids for this work were opened at 10:00 a.m. on March 27, 1986 and were
received as follows:

The low bid is $3,546.00 or one half percent over the engineer's estimate of
$680,527.50.
Based on the low bid, the City share of this project is $521,698.50 and The Irvine
Company share is $162,375.00. There is presently $400,000.00 allocated in the
F.Y. '85-'86 Budget for this project which will make it necessary to allocate
additional funds for this project in the F.Y. '86-'87 Budget.
