MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL
April 17, 1961
Meeting called tO!order at 7:40 P.M. by Mayor Kidd.
PRESENT: Kidd, Mack, Byrd
ABSENT: ShSridan

CITY ENGINEER: Present
Moved by Councilman Mack, seconded by Council-
man Byrd that minutes of April 3rd and April
6th meetings be approved as corrected. Motion
carried
25 MILE SPEED Moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Council-
SIGNS man Mack authorizing Chief Sissel to-erect 25
mile speed signs at Malena and Wheeler Drives.
Motion carried.
PART-TIME Moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman
INSPECTOR FOR Mack that Fire Chief be authorized to hire a
FIRE DEPT. part-time inspector for a maximum of 20 hours
' per week. Motion carried.
IMPROVEMENT OF Bids on Project 24, (improvement of Main Street
MAIN ST FROM from Pacific to Myrtle) opened and read by the
PACIFIC TO clerk and referred to the City Engineer for
MYRTLE recommendations.
MUSCULAR Moved by Councilman Byrd, secondedby Councilr
DYSTROPHY AND man Mack that permission be granted Muscular
MULTIPLE Dystrophy and Multiple Sclerosis to hold fund
SCLEROSIS raising campaigns in the City of Tustin. Motion
DRIVES carried.
City Engineer reported the following bids opened:
BIDS R.J. Noble $15,498.50
Sully Miller 15,766.20
Griffith Company 16,i05.50
Hardy & Harper 16,462.00
CONTRACT Recommended contract be awarded to R. J. Noble
AWARDED TO at unit priceof $15,498.50 being the lowest
R.J. NOBLE responsible bidder and clerk authorized to
return bidders' bonds of Sully Miller, Griffith
Company, and Hardy & Harper.
Moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman
Mack that recommendations of City Engineer b~
accepted. Motion carried.
Moved by Councilman Mack, seconded by Council-
GRADES TO BE man Byrd that City Engineer McBride be authorized ~-~
ESTABLISHED ON to establish grades on Orange Avenue and Laguna
ORANGE AVE. & Road and set grade stakes for property owners
LAGUNA ROAD including the High School, Motion carried.
ADVERTISING Request for an Ordinance regulating advertising
DISPLAYS NEAR displays adjacent to landscaped Freeways referred
FREEWAYS to the City Attorney.

· No. 151 Byrd that Ordinance No. 151 have its first read-
ing by title only. Motion carried unanimously.
MAP OF TRACT Moved by Councilman Mack, seconded by Councilman
NO. 3994 Byrd that final map of Tract No. 3994 be approved.
APPROVED Motion carried.
CHANGE OF City Attorney requested to study and report on
NAME OF TUSTIN change of name of Tustin Youth Center Committee
YOUTH CENTER ~ to Parks andsRecreation Commission..
' Mr. Humeston arrived at 8:45 P.M.
SUBDIVISION City Attorney was requested to:prepare a sub-
ORDINANCE division ordinance with the collaboration of the
City Engineer and Councilman Mack.
Motion made by Councilman Humeaton, seconded by
PURCHASE OF Councilman Byrd authorizing the purchase of a
