AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR 'F.Y. '85-'86 SIDEWALK AND CURB REPAIR PROGRAM
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of May 19, 1986, award
the contract for subject project to Dudley Masonry, Inc. of Anaheim, California in
the amount of $114,863.12 and authorize staff to add additional work to the
contract to utilize all budgeted funds.
BACKGROUND:
Subject project enco~asses repair of sidewalks and/or curbs at 234 various
locations throughout the City. In addition, included with this project is the
construction of a new sidewalk along the easterly side of School Lane and the
northerly side of Service Road from Sycamore Avenue to Red Hill Avenue. This new
sidewalk is being financed with SB 821 funds.
Sealed bids for this work were opened on May 13,
received as follows:

The low bid is $10,585.91 or 8.44% below the engineer's estimate of $125,449.03.
There is presently $100,000.00 allocated for sidewalk and curb repair and
$36,000.00 available in SB 821 funds for the new School Lane/Service Road
sidewalk. The low bid consisted of $79,950.62 for sidewalk and curb repair and
$34,912.50 for the School Lane/Service Road sidewalk.
Attached, for the City Council's information, is a tabulation of all bids
received.
