FOO1}IILL/EASTERN TRANSPORTATION CORRIDOR FEE ASSESSMENT
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of June 2, 1986, authorize the
payment of the $25,000.00 assessment to the Foothill Eastern Transportation
Corridor Joint Powers Agency and a supplemental budget appropriation for 1985-86 in
the amount of $25,000.00.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Tustin became a member of the Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor
Joint Powers Agency (J.P.A.) effective February 26, lg86. At a recent meeting, the
J.P.A. levied an assessment of $25,000.00 to each member agency to cover the
initial administrative costs that the J.P.A. is experiencing.
The Orange County Transportation Commission (O.C.T.C.) is currently processing a
bill through the legislature which will allow the J.P.A. to utilize corridor fees
for administrative pprposes i.n lieu of construction purposes only..After this bill
has ~een adopted, the J.P.A. has indicated itqs their intent to refund each member
agency this $25,000.00 assessment. It is anticipated that this refund will occur
sometime in late 1986.
