PRESENT : KIDD, HUMESTON, BYRD, MACK, SHERIDAN ABSENT : NONE CITY ATTORNEY : PRESENT CITY ENGINEER : PRESENT Moved by Councilman Mack, seconded by Councilman Sheridan, that the minutes of December 19th meeting be approved as mailed and received. Motion carried. HOLLIDAY Aplication for renewal of Dance permit for the Hoiliday CAFE DANCE Cafe and Fire Chief. PERMIT Moved by Councilman Sheridan, seconded by Councilman APPT. FIRE Byrd that appointment of Morgan Hilton as Fire Chief CHIEF AND and H. Louis Hansen as Assistant Fire Chief for 1961 ASST. be approved. Motion carried. Police Cornmissioner Humeston requested permission to hire another patrlman at the regular shedule of $380.00 per month. HIRING Moved by Councilman Mack, seconded by CounciIman PATROLMAN Sheridan that Chief Sissel be authorized to hire one additional patrolman at a base pay of $380.00 per mo. for a 6 month probationary period. Motion carried. ORD. FOR City Attorney requested to study and report on an OFFICER TR. Ordinance to permit officers to attend Officer Training SCHOOL School. Moved by Councilman Sheridan, seconded by Councilman PICK UP Humeston, that the Police Chief be authorized to TRUCK purchase a pick-up truck with the approval of the Mayor or Councilman Byrd. Motion carried. Proclamation issued by the Mayor declaring the week of January 9th 1961 as "Tustin Area Women' s CIub Week" SEMIANNUAL Moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Sheridan P.D. RAISE that regular semiannual $5.00 per month raise be granted Chief Sissel, Sgt. Allec, and Patrolmen Heil and Munson. Motion carried. KNOTT TREE Mayor Kidd was authorized to prodeed with Tree Planting at the Tustin Youth Center in honor of Walter Knott Day. Contract for trash and garbage collection with Holthe HOLTHE Disposal Co. referred to the City Attorney to work out CONTRACT details with the Holthe Co. and report at the next meeting. DEFENSE The Fire Department was authorized to send two men to SCHOOL Civilian Defense Radio-active school. Moved by Councilman Sheridan, seconded by Councilman BILLS Mack that the bills be paid. Fund 173.23 Moved by Councilman Sheridan, seconded by Counciman Mack that the plans and specifications as here- EL MODENO - tofore submitted to the City of Tustin for the IRVINE CHANNEL construction of the El Modena - lrvine Channel, DWG No. F7-101-4 (Bond Project F7) portions lying within the City of Tustin be approved and two (2) certified copies of this motion be forwarded to the Orange County Flood Cortrol District by the City Clerk. Motion carried. Mayor Kidd was authorized to write the County ZONING Board of Supervisors regarding request of the NEWPORT & Tustin Planning Commission and City Council BRYAN that certain property at Newport and Bryan be zoned C-1.
