White, Director of Community and Administrative Serv~ces_|%~/ CONTRACT RENEWAL WITH COOPERATIVE PERSONNEL SERVICES RECOMMENDATION: City Council to adopt Resolution 85-17. BACKGROUND: Administrative Services recommends that we renew the City's contract with Cooperative Personnel Services, a division of the California State Personnel Board. Cooperative Personnel Services provides standardized examinations for many of the City's job classifications, such as Police Officer, Police Sergeant, Secretary, Account Clerk, and others. Cooperative Personnel Services requires that the attached Resolution be approved by the City Council. This resolution will simply continue the status quo operation. Their service has been excellent, and their examinations are statistically valid, reliable, and objective. RAW/kaw Attachment: Resolution #85-17 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. #85-17 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AND SIGN AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TUSTIN AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, CALIFORNIA STATE PERSONNEL BOARD, COOPERATIVE PERSONNEL SERVICES. WI~S, the California State Personnel Board requires a written resolution and agreement from any agency'participating in their Cooperative Personnel Services Program; and W~S, the Administrative Services Department of the City of Tustin desires periodically to utilize technical and personnel examining services provided by the California State Personnel Board. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that William A. Huston, City Manager, is authorized to enter into and sign an agreement with the State of California, California State Personnel Board, Cooperative Personnel Services, for the purposes of performing examination services, when desired, for a maximum duration period of three years. PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Tustin City Council held on the 19th day of February, 1985. MAYOR ATTEST: CITY CLERK
