CITY ENGINEER: McBride. Meeting called to order at 7:35 P- M. by Mayor pro tem, Vincent Humeston. Moved by Councilman Mack, seconded by Councilman Byrd that minutes of June 6th meeting be approved as corrected. Motion carried. MODIFICA- MotiOn made by CounciIman Byrd, seconded by Councilman TION OF Sheridan that minutes of June 6th, be modified to substi- MINUTES tute, Minute Order on expenditure of State Highway Funds, with RESOLUTION N0. 515- Motion carried. All Councilmen voting Aye. Canvass of South Tustin Avenue Annexation was immediately started. TUSTIN Moved by Councilman Mack, seconded by Councilman Byrd, AVENUE that RESOLUTION N0. 516, reciting factof ~lection be ANNEX adopted. CANVASS Motion carried, all Councilmen voting Aye. MOved by Councilmarl Byrd, secofided by Councilman Sheridan. Motion carried. The whole number of votes cast in election was 11 Official number of votes cast for Annexation 9 Official number of votes cast against Annexation 2 FIRST Moved by Councilman Sheridan, seconded by Councilman READING Mack that ORDINANCE N0. 136, approving the South Tustin ORD. #136 Avenue Annexation have its first reading in its entire- 'ty. Motion carried. NEWPORT Moved by Councilman Sheridan, seconded by Councilman ANNEX Mack, that the Clerk inform applicants for'annexation REQUEST of property on Newport Avenue, that said applications CITY ATTY are under consideration. City Attorneysinstructed to look into problems involved and report at next meeting. Motion carried. Motion made by Councilman Mack, seconded by Councilman SPEED Byrd that Chief Sissel be instructed. to contact County LIMITS to work out traffic speed limits between City and County in surrounding area adjacent to the City of Tustin. Motion carried. SPEED Moved by Councilman Sheridan, seconded by Councilman RESOLU- Mack that City Attorney draw up Resolution for c~t~ TION speed limit changes as submitted by Chief Sissel. Motion carried. Moved by Sheridan, ~econded by Mack that Chief of TAXI Police and City Attorney check out with applicant .STAND for Taxi Stand and report findings at next meeting. REQUEST Motion carried. 178 Moved by Councilman Sheridan, seconded by Council- man Mack that correspondence be filed. Motion carried. RECALL Moved by Councilman Mack, seconded by Councilman OF POLICE Sheridan that Chief Sissel be ordered to recall BADGES all known badges issued prior to Chief Sissel's appointment as Chief, except for present reserves and regular Police Officers. Motion carried. ADD'L Moved by Sheridan, seconded by Councilman Mack, TELEPHONE that Clerk be instructed to proceed with additional FACILITIES telephone facilities including third line to City Hall and second line to Answering Service as requested. Motion carried. NUMBERING Moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman SYSTEM FOR Sheridan that houses in South Tustin Avenue SO. TUSTIN Annexation remain as numbered according to ANNEX. County Numbering System. Motion carried. FIRST Moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman STREET Mack, that Mr. McBride be authorized to meet with EXTENSION Mr. Bergh of CSunty'Planning Commission and Mr. Koch of the Road Department, to explore feasa- bility of extension of First Street, southeasterly parallel with flood channel control. Motion carried. REVISION Mr. Dennis Hayden, reported revision of 0rdinance ON ORD. No. 9~, deferred to a later date. 95 DEFERRED Moved by Byrd, seconded by Mack that Dale Munson TYPIST be employed as typist for Civilian Defense as FOR CIVIL- requested by Buel Williamson. Remuneration at IAN DEF. the rate of ~2.00 per hour. Motion carried. C.D. Moved by Councilman Mack, seconded by Councilman APP'TS Byrd that appointments of William Gray as Assistant Civilian Defense Director and Ruth C. Poe as Deputy Director be approved. Motion carried. TABLING City Attorney requested that County Master Plan CO. MAS- and Access Ordinance be tabled. TER PLAN & ORD. Moved by Councilman Mack, seconded by Councilman Sheridan that City Clerk be authorized to sign SIGNAL agreement with Signal Oil Co. Motion carried. OIL Moved by Byrd, seconded by Sheridan that RESOLUTION EXCLUS- NO. 517, requesting exclusion from Tax Levy for ION FROM County Structural Fire Protection, be adopted and TAX LEVY filed. Motion carried, all Councilmen voting Aye. .BALMER Movedby Councilman Mack, seconded by Councilman GRANT Sheridan, that Grant Deed to c~rtain property DEEDS on the easterly extension of 6th Street from D ACCEPT- Street, from Tom & Louise Simon, H. E. & Marjorie ANCE Balmer and John Prescott be accepted. Motion carried. OFFICIAL Moved. by Councilman Byrd, seco~ded by Councilman OPENING Sheridan, that Official Opening of the Tustin Youth T.Y.C. Center be held SUnday, July l?th, at a ceremony from 3:00 to 6:00 P. M., and City Clerk be authorized to INSURANCE procure Liability, Fire, Malicious Mischief and PROCUREMENT Vandalism (including glass & plate glass) insur- T.Y.C. ance coverage and endorsement to cover Tustin Youth Center Committee as of July 15th, 1960.
