AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE COMPRESSOR
RECOMMENDATION:
Request the Tustin City Council, at their regular meeting of May 6, 1985, to
authorize the purchase of an Ingersoll-Rand gasoline powered compressor from
Ingersoll-Rand of Pico Rivera for $9,024.84.
BACKGROUND:
The Tustin City Council authorized the replacement of the Water Division's
compressor when adopting the 1984-85 fiscal budget. Specifications were written
for a #125 compressor with the option of gasoline or diesel power so not to limit
competition. One of the three companies submitting bids did not meet the minimum
specification. The other two companies submitted alternative bids: 1) gasoline
powered; and 2) diesel powered. One company, Ingersoll-Rand, submitted yet a
third alternative for a higher quality compressor (a 160 diesel powered
compressor).
Monies budgeted from the vehicle leasing fund for this equipment were $11,025.00.
