OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL,
APRIL 19TH, 1960
MEMBERS.~RESENT: Bacon, Byrd, HUmeston, Tadlock, Kidd.
ABSENT .... : None.
CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, present.
CITY ENGINEER : J. L. McBride, present.
Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order at 7:30 P- M.
The canvass of the vote in the Municipal Election
of Tuesday, April 12th, ~960 and the count of the
MUNICIPAL Absentee Ballots was immediately started by the
ELECTION Canvassing Board.
CANVASS Voting. Precincts l, 2, 3 & 4 were consolidated
into I precinct, the Tustin. City Hall, 145 W.
Third St., Tustin, California.
The whole number of votes cast in the election
was ~27 ..
The official and number of votes received by each
candidate for City Councilman is as follows:
Vincent L. Humeston .292b
Wintford L. Tadlock .235
Frank E. Bacon, Jr. .252
Gerald C. Mack .280 ~

For the office of City Clerk:

It was moved by Councilman Bacon, seconded by
RESOLUTION Councilman Tadlock that RESOLUTION NO. 506..,
NO. 506 declaring results of Municipal Election, be
ADOPTED adopted. Motion carried, all Councilmen voting Aye.

OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 19th, 1960 CONTINUED
:Meeting reconvened at 8:45 P. M. with new
Council and City Clerk present.
Nominations were opened for Mayor for the next
~wo years.
Jerome Kidd nominated by Vincent'Humeston,
NOMINATION seconded by Gerald Mack. Vincent Humeston
FOR moved that nominations be closed. All present
MAYOR voting Aye. Apposed none.
Vincent Humeston, nominated Mayor pro tem by
MAYOR Councilman Byrd, seconded by Gerald Mack. All
PRO TEM present voting Aye. Apposed none.
Glenn Sissel was nominated for Chief of Poiice,
to continue on said six months probation,
License Collector and Superintendent of Streets
by Vincent Humeston, seconded by Myrl Sheridan.
J. L. McBride was nominated City Engineer by Lee
Byrd, seconded by Gerald Mack.
W. S. Leinberger was nominated Treasurer by
Gerald Mack, senonded by Vincent Mumeston.
NOMINATIONS
Dennis Hayden was nominated City Attorney by
Lee Byrd, seconded by Myrl Sheridan.
Ruth C. Poe, nominated Purchasing Agent by Myrl
Sheridan, seconded by Gerald Mack.
Ruth C. Poe nominated Clerk of the Planning
Commission by Gerald Mack seconded by Myrl Sheridan.
Vincent Humeston moved the adoption of RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION NO. .~07 as now drawn. Seconded by M. Sheridan.
NO. 507 Motion carried, all Councilman voting Aye.(ro~l call)
Moved by V. Humeston and seconded by Gerald Mack
TRAVEL that Mayor Kidd and J. L. McBride be allowed
EXPENSES travel and lodging expenses to Sacramento for
HIGHWAY Highway Commission hearing. Motion carried, all
COMM. Councilman voting Aye.
LEAGUE Correspondence read from League of Cities for
DINNER invitation and Program for April meeting,
April 28th, 1960, Laguna Hotel.
E. Jacobson asked COuncil to take action, to take
YOUTH CENTRE over Tustin Youth Center as soon as possible
MEETING in order for Center to receive funds from such
organizations as 'AYD'. City Clerk instructed to
call Evelyn Ojeda to set up meeting between
Council and Youth Center Corporation for opening
of Youth Center.
E. Jacobson also asked Committee of Council to
have an answer on Tustin Tiller Days Budget by
TILLER DAYS May 2n~ Council Meeting.

Mr. A. Nieblas reported date of May 4th, set for
TUSTIN Board of Supervisors hearing on Tustin Swim
SWIM Club. Motion was made by I;. Byrd, seconded by
CLUB V. Humeston to have Clerk write the Board of
Supervisors requesting postponement of hearing
until after Tustin Planning Commission meeting,
May 9th, 196. Motion carried, all Councilmen
voting Aye.
Motion made by Gerald Mack to adjourn meeting,
seconded by M. J. Sheridan. Motion carried.
