EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT
The city's purchasing ordinance requires that the City Council be informed after
an emergency purchase has been authorized by the City Manager.
As per your authorization of April 23, 1985, the following equipment is being
purchased: 1) a motorized paint shaker for street paint (approximately
$3,000.00); and, 2) a 550 gallon water tank (approximately $1,000.00).
Currently street paint is being stirred by hand. With the new consistency
{beading) of reflectorized paint, hand stirring does not provide a proper mixture
for paint application. In order to continue street painting with the appropriate
reflectorizatlon, a motorized paint shaker is required.
The existing 15 year old water tank used to water new trees completely rusted
through. In order to continue operation and protect the city's investment in
trees, the water tank must be replaced.
