HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1960 03 07 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL, MARCH 7th, 1960 MEMBERS PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Rumeston, Bacon & Byrd. ABSENT : None. CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, present. CITY ENGINEER : J. L. McBride, present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kidd at 7:30 P. M. The minutes of previous meetings were approved as mailed, on motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon and duly carried. REQUEST After discussion regarding a request!by the Republican FOR SPECIAL Central Committee Iof Orange County, that the Council go on SESSION ON record requestin{ Governor Brown to call a special session NARCOTICS of the Legislature ca the Narcotics problem, Councilman PROBLEM Bacon moved, :seconded by Councilman Byrd that RESOLUTION NO. 500 regarding the above be adopted and forwarded to Governor Brown. Motion carried, all Councilmen voting Aye. PERMISSION It was moved by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Council- TO CANCER man Bacon, that the American Cancer Society be given SOCIETY permission to conduct their solicitation for funds during FOR SOLICI- the month of April, 1960. Motion carried. TATION Mayor Kidd opened the hearing on re-zoning of the Tustin RE*ZONE ON Union High School, property from R-1 to R-3 at 7:45 P. M. HIGH SCHOOL Mrs. Adams, a proponent, was the only person offering any comment. There being no other persons desiring to speak for or against the change, the hearing was closed. ORDINANCE Councilman Tadlock moved, seconded by Councilman Humeston NO. 133 that ORDINANCE NO. 133, "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 71 OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN AND RE-ZONIING AND ESTABLISING BUILDING LINES FOR CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF TUSTIN," have it's first reading in its entirety. Motion carried, all Councilmen voting Aye. REPORT City Engineer McBride gave a progress report on the ON LARWIN Larwin Square development, principally regarding drain- SQUARE age. Motion carried. PROOF OF The City Clerk was authorized to sign the "Proof of LOSS ON Loss" to the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company for the POLICE CAR 1959 Dodge 4-Door Police Unit automobile, on motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston and duly carried. CHAMBER Councilman Bacon moved, seconded by Councilman TO RECEIVE Tadlock that a request by Don Brown, Secretary COUNCIL of the Tustin Chamber of Commerce, that the "Chamber" MINUTES be added to the mailing list for Council Minutes, be approved. Motion carried. On motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Byrd and duly carried, the bills were ordered paid.
