OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL,
FEBRUARY 15, 1960
MEMBERS PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Humeston, Bacon & Byrd.
ABSENT : None. --
CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, present.

CITY ENGINEER : J. L. McBride, present.
Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order at 7:50 P. M.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved end mailed,
on motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon
and duly carried.
Councilman Humeston moved, seconded by Councilman Tad-
lock that the correspondence be received end filed.
Motion carried.
PAVING OF City Engineer McBride reported that Holt Avenue was
HOLT AVENUE to be paved by the County and that in his opinion
the city should have that portion of Holt Avenue within
the city paved at the same time.
MCBRIDE TO Councilman Byrd moved, secon~ed by Councilman Humestoh
WRITE ROAD that City Engineer McBride be authorized to write the
COMMISSIONER Orange County Road Commissioner and proceed with an 8greement
FOR PAVING for the paving of Holt ~venue. Motion carried.
AGREEMENT
Mayor Kidd opened the hearing for the establishment
HEARING ON of Zoning and Setback lines for the "Yorba Street
ZONING & Annexation", at 7:45 P. M. There being no objections
SETBACK to the recommendation of the !Tustin Planning Commission,
FOR YORBA ST. the hearing was closed.
ANNEX.
It was moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman
RECOMMENDA- Humeston that the recommendations of the Tustin Plann-
TIONS BE ing Commission for Zoning and Setback requirements for
ESTABLISNED the "Yorba Street Annexation" be established, if said
territory is annexed to the City Of Tustin. Motion
carried.
DIRECTOR OF The matter of compensation for Col. Williamson, Civil
DEFENSE SALARY Defense Director, was discussed, and it was moved by
SET AT $50.00 Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Bacon that
he be allowed a salary of $$50.00 per month. Motion
carried.
Councilman Tadlock moved, seconded by Councilman Bacon
that the Civil Defense Director's salary be retroactive
until February 1, 1960. Motion carried.
HEARING ON Mayor Kidd opened the hearing on the "Yorba Street
YORBA ST. Annexation" by Nellie M. Parker, G. I. Nardulli, Lucia
ANNEXATION. Colianni, Theron A. & Adah L. Willis were all with-
drawn. There being no further protests the hearing
was declared closed.
Councilman Byrd moved, seconded by Councilman Humeston
that the hearing be continued to February 25, 1960 at
HEARING TO BE 7:30 P. M. in the Council Chambers, Tustin City Hall
CONTINUED and that the last day for filing additional protests
WITH ADDITION- be February 25, 1960 at 5:00 P. M. in the office of the
AL PROTESTS City Clerk, City of Tustin, California. Motion carried.
TO BE HEARD.
It was moved by Councilman Bacon, seconded by
Councilman Tadlock that the protests filed be found
insufficient to terminate the proceedings. Motion
carried.
City Engineer J. L. McBride, continued his report.
NEGOTIA- Councilman Tadlock moved, seconded by Councilman
TIONS WITH Byrd, that the City Engineer be authorized to
WILSHIRE advise the Department of Public Works that the City
RE: TUBBS of Tustin will negotiate with and obtain from the
PROPERTY Wilshire Oil Company and Dixon W. Tubbs on additonal
strip of land ten (10) feet in width on the Northside
of First Street (40 ft. wide) lying Westerly of the
Westerly right of-way line of Newport Freeway. Motion
carried.
CLAIMS The City Clerk read three claims for damages against
FOR DAMA- the City of Tustin. One by Mary K. Dillman and Ralph
GES AGAINST A. Dillman, for the sum of $5,541.00. One by Myrl
CITY Sheridan for the sum of $400.00. One by Mary E.
Madory and John L. Madory for the sum of $26,815.00
Councilman Humeston moved, seconded by Byrd that all
three of the above claims be received and filed.
Motion carried.
DENIAL It was moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Council-
ON CLAIMS man Tadlock that all of the claims be denied and the
clerk instructed to so notify the claimants. Motion
carried.
ALTERA- Councilman Humeston moved, seconded by Councilman

PARTMENT
Councilman Tadlock moved, seconded. by Councilman
Bacon that a Dance Permit be issued the Signal
DANCE PER- Cafe when all the requirements of the Police and Fire

CONTING- It was moved by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Council-

Councilman Bacon moved, seconded by Councilman Humeston
OPPOSITION that the Tustin City Council go on record as apposing
ON NAME the changing of the name of First Street to Bolsa Ave-
CHANGE FOR nue, and the Clerk instructed to so inform the Orange
FIRST ST. County Planning Commission, the Street Naming
Committee and County Board of Supervisors. Motion
carried.
RE-ZONING Councilman Humeston moved, seconded by Councilman --.
OF HIGH Byrd that the City Clerk call a hearing on the re-
SCHOOL PROP. zoning of the.Tustin High School property. Motion :
carried.
On motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Council-
man Byrd and duly carried, the meeting was adjourned
until February 18, 1960 at 12: M.
