FROM: BOB LEDENDECKER, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER
SUB,,IEO~: LIBRARY PARKING LOT (INFORMATION REPORT)
Staff has reviewed the original Library Lease Agreement dated July 9, 1974 and the
Library Lease Amendment dated March 30, 1976 with respect to vehicle parking as it
relates to library use.
Following is a recap of data pertaining to parking:
Section 7 - City shall provide fifty (50) public parking spaces for the
use of library patrons and others, and twelve (12) parking spaces for the
exclusive use of library employees.
In addition to the fifty (50) public parking spaces, the City shall
provide an additional one hundred thirty two public parking spaces in the
Civic Center which shall be for use in common by the City and Library and
their respective patrons, guests and invitees.
Directional signing indicating library parking shall be as mutually agreed
upon.
Section 8 - Library paid actual construction cost for fifty parking
spaces in the Civic Center site and twelve parking spaces in the Library
employees lot.
At the current time, there is no directional signing which would indicate or
delineate library parking. To my knowledge, signing of this type has never been
installed. In order to comply with the lease agreement terms, it is suggested
that directional signing indicating library parking be installed at locations
shown on the attached drawing. No other action is required at this time.
