HomeMy WebLinkAboutPRESENTATION 1 07-01-85DATE: June 25, 1985 PRESENTATION NO. 1 TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: Jeff Kolin, Recreation Superintendent and Eileen Hatter, Recreation Supervisor SUBJECT: EL CAMINO REAL CHAMPIONSHIP CHILI COOK-OFF RECOMMENDATION: Recognize the E1 Camino Real Championship Chili Cook-off Steering Committee, the Cook-off sponsors and the Community for their help and present COPES, Inc. with $4,177.98. BACKGROUND: Once again the Second Annual E1 Camino Real Chili Cook-off was an astounding success. A special "Thank You" is extended to you, the City Council, for your continued support of this program. With the help of the City Council, the Chili Cook-off Committee, all our gracious sponsors and of course the community of Tustin, we were able to raise over $4,000 for Copes, Inc., our selected charity. We had many businesses participate in the program with either services or financial assistance. We feel they should be mentioned: Sir Speedy, Southern Counties Oil Company, Coors Distributing Company, KIK FM, Tustin Savings, E1 Dorado Bank, Tustin Area Woman's Club, Irvine Ranch Market, Aerojet Ordnance Company, Saddleback Flower Shop, Great Western Reclamation Inc., Goodyear Tire Center, Ranch House, Case Swayne, E1 Camino Bank and Western Neuro Care Center. The Steering Committee for the E1 Camino Real Championship Chili Cook-off will be in attendance to help present the check to COPES, Inc. Dottie Hill, Dorothy Hove, Executive Director; Gerald L. Klein, President of the Board of Copes will attend to accept the check for Copes. They are very happy to receive our support and appreciate the involvement of the City in the event and it's concern for the co~ JK:EH:ls
