HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1959 10 05 122 MINUTES 0F A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL, OCTOBER 5, 1959. COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Numeston & Byrd. ABSENT : Bacon. CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, present. CITY ENGINEER : J. L. McBride, present. Mayor Kidd opened the meeting at 7:35 P. M. Minutes of adjourned meeting of September 21, 1959 at 1:30 P. M. regular meeting September 21, 1959 and adjourned meeting of September 28, 1959 were approved as mailed, on motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock and duly carried. Letters from Congressman James B. Utt and Lawrence A. Wise, of Hahn, Wise & Barber, inc. were read, and on motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock and carried, were ordered received and filed. AUTHORI- Councilman TadlOck moved, seconded by Councilman Humeston that ZATION TO City Engineer MbBride be authorized to have the Eucalyptus HAVE TREES trees on the Northside of Laguna Road between D Street and REMOVED Newport Avenue removed at a cost not to exceed $1400.00. Motion carried. CHAMBER Mayor Kidd appointed Councilman Tadlock and Councilman Humeston OF COMMERCE a committee, to work with the Chamber of Commerce to determine necessary funds to be used for advertising purposes for the City of Tustin; TAX CANCEL- It was moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston LATION that City Attorney Hayden be authorized to sign the Tax cancell- ation on the Chuml property as requested by the California Division of Highways. Motion carried. REQUEST Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Tadlock FROM CAB that a letter from the Broadway Yellow Cab Co. of Santa Ana, CO. requesting permission to set up a taxi stand in Tustin, be referr- ed to City Attorney Hayden and Chief of Police Johansen for a report back to the Council at a later date. Motion carried. REQUEST Councilman Byrd moved, seconded by Councilman Tadlock that FOR ST. the City Clerk write the Orange County Board of Supervisors LIGHTS ON and request that street lights be installed on Del Amo and DEL AM0 & Carfax streets. Motion carried. CARFAX. Councilman Tadlock and Byrd were appointed by Mayor Kidd to HIRING OF work with Chief of Police Johansen in selecting a new patrolman NEW PATROL- for the Police Department. MAN Acceptance of resignations by Thermon Means and John A. Siegel RESIGNATION from the Planning Commission were deferred until such a time MEANS & as replacements could be found.
