RESTRICTED PARKING DURING STREET SWEEPING HOURS
RECOMMENDATION:
That. the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of September 3, 1985, authorize the
installation of signing prohibiting on-street parking during the hours of street
sweeping between 6:00 a.m. and 12 noon on Thursday along both Alliance Avenue and
Tustin Village Way adjacent to the Holiday Gardens Apartments located at 15601
Tustin Village Way.
BACKGROUND:
Staff has received a request from Mr. Richard W. Brown, the owner of the Holiday
Gardens Apartments at 15601 Tustin Village Way, to have signs posted adjacent to
his property prohibiting on-street parking during hours of street sweeping. A
copy of this request is attached for information.
DISCUSSION:
The Holiday Garden Apartments is located on the northwesterly corner of Tustin
Village Way and Alliance Avenue and has 230 + feet of frontage on Alliance Avenue
and 280 + feet of frontage on Tustin Village--Avenue. Mr. Brown is the owner of
said property located at 15601Tustin Village Way and has a concern that the
streets cannot be adequately swept when vehicles are parked adjacent to the curb.
This area is swept on Thursdays and the suggested signing for this installation
would read as follows:
NO PARKING
6:00 A.M. TO 12 NOON
THURSDAYS
STREET SWEEPING
Other portions of Tustin Villag? Way have been posted previously with no
complaints. Staff recommends sign installation on both Alliance Avenue and Tustin
Village Way.
Questionnaires were not mailed to the entire block due to the large siie of this
development with adequate street frontage to substantiate the signing.

Dear Mr. Ledendecker;
RECEIVED
TUSTIN P!~BLIC ~/~o.~<.~ DEPT.

As owner of the HOLIDAY GARDENS apartments on Tustin Village Way
I have a great concern for the appearance of our city. I appreciate
the service the city provides of weekly street sweeping. However, in
the situation of apartment living that service is not being fully
utilized. Tenents often find the need to park their vehicles on the
streets, not allowing the sweepers to completely clean the curb areas.
I am requesting that signs be posted to prohibit street parking
on Thursday mornings so that our streets might be adequately cleaned.
There are already signs posted further down the block so I would
hope that we can have signs posted to include our portion of the street.
I would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter in our
mutual desire to maintain the city of Tustin.
Respectful ly.,
RWB/dpe
