HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1959 09 08 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL, SEPTEMBER 8, 1959 COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Humeston, Bacon & Byrd ABSENT : None. CITY ATTORNEY : J. L. McBride, present. The meeting was called to order at 7:35 P. M. by Mayor Kidd. APPROVAL Councilman Humeston moved, seconded by Councilman Bacon, OF MINUTES that the minutes of the meeting of August 17, and adjourned meetings of August 24th and August 31, 1959 be approved as mailed. Motion carried. EXTENSION It was moved by Councilman Humeston, seconded by OF BID, Councilman Bacon that Bid No. 833 from the Signal Oil Co., SIGNAL OIL dated July 16, 1957 be extended to June 30, 1960, sub- ject to change as specified in Bid No. 627, dated July 20, 1959. Motion carried. Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman REFUND OF Humeston that a Business License refund of $20.00 be BUSINESS granted to James R. Pyles as per his request in letter LICENSE of August 29, 1959. Motion carried. REQUEST Mr. Albert Rideout's request, to erect a sign on Dr. ON SIGN Stanton's property adjacent to the Freeway, was referred FOR RIDE* to City Attorney Hayden for a report at next Council OUT meeting. Councilman. Tadlock moved, seconded by Councilman Humeston, AUTHORIZA- that the Chamber of Commerce of Tustin be authorized TION GIVEN to use prints from the tracing of Tustin and Vicinity TO C. OF C Map, Exhibit A, dated September 1, 1959; tracing to remain USE OF property of the City of Tustin. Motion carried. TRACINGS On Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman TRAFFIC Byrd and carried, City Engineer McBride is authorized to set CONTROL up Traffic Control Plan as submitted, for the intersection PLAN of Lagune Road and D Street. Motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon IMPROVE- that Engineer McBride be authorized to improve the Westside MENT OF of Prospect Avenue, North from First Street approximately PROSPECT 700 feet, on basis of labor and material, cost not to AVENUE exceed $2,000.00. Motion carried. Councilman Tadlock moved, seconded by Councilman Byrd that Craft Shows be granted a permit to operate during Tiller days on condition they pay the Business License as specified in Ordinance No. 87of $25.00 per day and that they consult the Fire Chief as to grouping concessions. Motion carried. PERMISSION City Cierk Park requested permission to leave the state GRANTED FOR until September 21, 1959. Councilman Bacon moved, seconded CITY CLERK by Councilman Humeston that the request be granted. TO LEAVE Motion carried. STATE It was moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock that the bills be paid. Motion carried.
