OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL,
AUGUST 3, 1959
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Bacon, Tadlock, Humeston & Byrd.
ABSENT : Kidd
CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, present.
CITY ENGINEER : J.L. McBride, present.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. by Mayor
pro tem Bacon.
Councilman Byrd moved, seconded by Councilman Humeston,
that the minutes of the last meeting be approved as
mailed. Motion carried.
LETTER OF Mrs. Sidney Y. Gregory submitted a letter of resignation
RESIGNATION from the Tustin Planning Commission, stating that
FROM MRS. family responsibilities plus that fact they are moving
GREGORY outside the city limits, were determining factors in
reaching her decision to resign. She elso informed
the Council that she would serve until a replacement
for the position was found.
HEARING ON Mayor pro tem Bacon opened the hearing on the South
SO. B. SETBACK "B" Street, setback.
There being no one present against the proposed change
HEARING in the setback line, Councilman Byrd moved, seconded
CLOSED by Councilman Humeston that the hearing be closed.
Motion carried.
Motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman
Humeston that ORDINANCE NO. 127, "AN ORDINANCE OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN AMENDING
ORD. 127. ORDINANCE NO. 71 OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN AND AMENDING
AMENDMENT ON BUILDING LINE SETBACK REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTAIN PROP-
BLDG. LINE PERTY IN THE CITY OF TUSTIN," have its first reading
SETBACKS. by title only. Motion carried, all Councilmen
present voting Aye.
City Engineer McBride stated that it was his opinion

NAME CHANGE ON Councilman Tadlock moved, seconded by Councilman

AUTHORIZATION Councilman Tadlock moved, seconded by Council
TO PURCHASE man Humeston that the City~Clerk be authorized
SUITABLE FAN to purchase a suitable fan for the Clerk's

It was moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by
KRAFT SHOWS Councilman Tadlock that granting of a business
license to the Kraft Shows, Inc., by the City
Clerk be approved. Motion carried.

RES. #483, Moved by Councilman Humeston, seconded by Council-

and Newport Avenue, be adopted. Motion carried,
all Councilmen present voting Aye.
DEPUTY CITY It was moved by Councilman Humeston, seconded
CLERK & by Councilman Byrd that the salaries of the
CITY MAIN- Deputy City Clerk and the regularly employed
TENANCE-- street maintenance employee be increased
5% RAISE by five per cent, effective July 1st, 1959.
IN SALARY Motion carried.
Councilman Humeston moved, seconded by Council-
INCREASE man Byrd that the Janitor's pay be increased
JANITOR from $35.00 to $40.00 per month. Motion carried.
RESOLUTION Motion was made by Councilman Humeston, seconded

PERMISSION Councilman Humeston moved, seconded by Council-
GIVEN FOR man Byrd that Fire Chief Morgan Hilton be allowed
FIRE CRIEF to use the room formerly used by the City Engineer,
TO USE adjacent to the City Clerk's office for an office,
ROOM. with the understanding that the City Clerk have
access at all times and that he be allowed to
use certain space for the "duplicator" and also
have space for a Filing Cabinet and if necessary
the closet for storage; and that it be relinquished
if and when it becomes necessary to expand the
facilities of the City Clerk's office beyond its
present use. Motion carried.
Moved by Councilman Mumeston, seconded by Council-
man Byrd that the bills be paid. Motion carried.

The meeting was duly adjourned, motion of Councilman
Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston and carried.
