HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1959 07 20108 MINUTES 0F A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL, JULY, 20th,1959 COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Bacon, Tadlock & Byrd ABSENT : Kidd & Humeston CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, absent CITY ENGINEER : J. L. McBride, present. Mayor pro tem Bacon opened the meeting at 7:30 P.M. Councilman Byrd moved, seconded by Councilman Tadlock, that minutes of the previous meeting be approved as mailed. Motion carried. On motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Byrd and carried, the correspondence was ordered received and filed. PURCHASE City Engineer McBride requested that a Map Filing Cabinet, OF MAP ten drawer capacity, be purchased for the City Engineer's FILING office. Councilman Tadlock moved, seconded, by Councilman CABINET Byrd, that said. Filing Cabinet be purchased as requested. Motion carried. REPORT It was moved by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman NEXT MEET- Byrd that City Engineer McBride and Chief of PoIice Johansen re- ING ON port port at the next Council meeting regarding stop signs at STOP SIGNS the intersection of Laguna Avenue and Newport Avenue. Motion carried. BIDS FOR There were bids by Orange County Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance FIRE INS. Co. and by the Farmers' insurance Group on the renewal of the City Hall Fire Insurance. The Orange County Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance Co., present insurers, submitted the lowest rate. RENEWAL It was moved by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Byrd OF FIRE that the present policy be renewed with the Orange County INS. Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance Co. and that the coverage be increased, but not to exceed $5,000.00. Motion carried. OPPOSITION Councilman Tadlock moved, seconded by Councilman Byrd that OF CLOSING RESOLUTION NO. 482, "A Resolution of the City Council of the NEWPORT AVE. City of Tustin, California, voicing its continued opposition RES. #482 to the proposed closing of Newport Avenue," be adopted. Motion carried, all Councilmen present voting Aye. RES #522 Resolution No. 522 from the Tustin Planning Commission was PLANNING read recommending that the setback requirements for certain COMM. HEARING It was moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman SET ON Tadlock that a hearing on the South "B" Street setback be S. "B" ST. held August 3rd, 1959 at 7:45 P. M. in the Council Chambers. SETBACK Motion carried. REQUIRE. Moved by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Byrd that the bills be paid. Motion carried.
