DECLARATION OF SURPLUS ITEMS
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of October 10, 1985, find that the
ten vehicles, motorcycles and equipment as detailed in this report, are not
required for public use and that they be declared as surplus items.
BACKGROUND:
Section 1626a(2) of City of Tustin Ordinance No. 871 discusses the disposition of
property and requires the purchasing agent to make a written estimate of the value
of any surplus items not useable by the City or not required for public use.
Further, the City Council must find that these surplus items are not required for
public use and after said finding, the purchasing agent shall have the authority
to sell all such items in accordance with Section 1625c and Section 1625d of
Ordinance No. 871, whichever is applicable.
DISCUSSION:
Staff is proposing to sell ten (10) vehicles, motorcycles and equipment at the
next available public auction (Ken Porter Auction). These items are surplus
which are no longer in use by the City due to routine rotation/replacement of
vehicles, motorcycles, and equipment.
