MINUTES 0F A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL,
MARCH 2ND, 1959
MEMBERS PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Bacon, Byrd.
ABSENT : Humeston.
CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, present.
CITY ENGINEER : J. L. McBride, present. ; ~
Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order at 7:30 P. M.
Minutes of the last meeting were approved as mailed,
on motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman
Tadlock.
LETTER A letter was read from Mr. Glenn Y. Allen and U. B.
FROM HELLIS Hellis, representing Orange County Municipal Water
OPPOSING District of Southern California, requesting that a

286. California State Legislature, would allow reservoirs
in which Colorado river water is stored, to be opened
for recreational purposes.
FILED After some discussion on the pros and cons, it was moved
ON MOTION by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Bacon
BY TADLOCK that the above letter be received and filed. Motion
& BACON. carried.
TRANSFER Copies of the regular quarterly audit were received
OF FUNDS from Hanson & Petercon, Certified PubIic Accountants.
FROM GEN. Enclosed was a letter from Arthur Peterson, Jr. request-
TO TRAF. ing that the Council authorize the transfer of $16,000.00
SAFETY from the General Fund to the Traffic Safety Fund to
cover an overdraft in the Traffic Safety Fund. Motion
carried.
TUSTIN FOOD In addition to the Tustin Food Locker is being constructed

that said curb and sidewalk be waived.
FURTHER After some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Tadlock,

ABOVE question of requiring installation of a concrete side-
walk in front of the building and adjacent to D Street
be deferred for further study of Ordinance No. 95, and
until the next regular meeting. Motion carried.
Hearing on zoning the Tustin Union High School to R-1
was opened by Mayor Kidd.
There being no one present opposed to the proposed
zoning, the hearing was closed.
FIRST READ- Motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman

ORD. #121 It was moved by Councilman Tadlock, seconded

GARDEN It was called to the attention of the Council

REFERRED Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by

referred to City Attorney Hayden, Motion
carried.
REPORT ON Councilman Bacon gave a very interesting
FIRE LOSS- report on the activities of the Tustin Fire
ES. Department for the last year and noted that
actual fire loss was only $3,185.00 for 1959.
It was moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by
Councilman Bacon that the bills be paid.
Motion carried.
