OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL,
FEBRUARY 2nd, 1959.
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Humeston, Bacon
& Byrd.
ABSENT : None.
CITY ATT0RNEY : Dennis D. Hayden and City Engineer
J. L. McBride, present.
Meeting was called to order promptly at 7:30 P. M.
by Mayor Kidd.
It was moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman
Bacon that the minutes of the previous meeting be
approved as mailed. Motion carried.
PETITION The Council was presented a petition by property
ON ELM owners on North A Street requesting that the Chinese
TREES BY Elm trees in the parking be removed, because, as
PROP. OWN- stated in the petition, they were dirty and littered

Mayor Kidd referred the Petition to Councilman Bacon
for a report at the next meeting.
IMPROVE- Engineer McBride reported that all of the money had

HIND UTT Main and Third Street and back of the Utt Juice Co.
JUICE CO. He also asked that he be authorized to constrcut a
culvert and lower the grade at the entrance to the
alley from Main Street.
It was moved by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by
AUTHORITY Councilman Humeston that City Engineer McBride be
GIVEN TO authorized to construct the above culvert; and grade
CONSTRUCT at a cost not to exceed $400.00. Motion carried.

On motion of Councilman HUmeston, seconded by CounciI-
MARCHANT man Bacon that a petition by property owners to annex
ANNEX. property known as the "Marchant Annexation" be received
PETITION and filed. Motion carried.
Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman
RESOLUTION Tadlock that RESOLUTION NO. 458, a Resolution acknowle-
NO. 458 ging receipt of a petition for annexation off certain

MARCHANT Marchant Annexation" be read by title only and adopted.
ANNEXATION Motion carried, all councilmen voting Aye.
The City Clerk reported that Gilbert McKensie had been
engaged as Building insoector.
BLDG. INSP. It was moved by Councilman Tadlock, Seconded by Council-

Motion carried.
ORD. #120 Motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Byrd
PROHIBIT that Ordinance No. 120, prohibiting Fortune Telling, have
FORTUNE its second reading by title only. Motion carried, all
TELLING. Councilmen voting Aye.
The question of the ~ge and condition of the police
cars was ~ u~[ht up bv Police Commissioner Tadlock.
AUTHORITY
GIVIEN CHIEF It was moved by Councilman Humeston, seconded by
JOHANSEN ON Councilman Tadlock that Chief of Police, Elmer Johansen
NEW CAR PUR- be authorized to obtain bids for a new car to replace
CHASE FOR DEPT. the 1956 Ford. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman Humeston, seconded by
Councilman Byrd and carried, that the bills be paid.
