HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1958 11 17 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL, NOVEMBER 17, 1958., COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Humeaton, Bacon & Byrd. ABSENT : None. CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, present. Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order at 7:'00 P. M. On motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock and carried, minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed. REQUEST An owner of property on Third Street in the Preble Tract, FOR ST. requested through the City Clerk's office, that a street LIGHT light be installed at the East end of Third Street at the alley. LOCATION After considerable discussion it was the opinion of OF LIGHT the Council that the proper place for a light in- stallation would be at the intersection of Preble Drive and Third Street. AUTHORI- Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman ZATION FOR Byrd that the City Clerk request the Orange County BD. OF Board of Supervisors to authorize the installation SUPERVISORS of a light at the intersection of Preble Drive and Third Street. Motion carried. Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman SECOND Byrd that ORDINANCE NO. 119 have its second reading ..~ READING OF by title only. Motion carried, all Councilmen voting ORD.119 Aye. Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman ADOPTION Humeston that ORDINANCE NO. 119 be adopted. Motion OF ORD.119 carried all Councilmen voting Aye. RESOLUTION Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman NO.455 RE, Humeston that RESOLUTION NO. 455, authorizing the City CORDING Clerk to record RESOLUTION NO. 454, vacating F Street, RESOLUTION be adopted. Motion carried, all Councilmen voting Aye. #454 Councilman Tadlock brought up the question of Civil QUESTION Service for City Employees. Said he understood that RAISED ON an Ordinance would be presented under the auspices CIVIL SER- of the Tustin Chamber of Commerce for the consideration VICE FOR of the Council. The generat opinion expressed, was CITY EMP. that at present Tustin was too small to take such a step, but. if and when an Ordinance. was presented, that it would be studied with an open mind. On motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Byrd and carried, the.bills were ordered paid. International Conference of Bldg.
