OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL,
OCTOBER 20, 1958
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Humeston, Bacon & Byrd.
ABSENT : None.
CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, absent.
Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order at 7:90 P. M.
On motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman
Byrd and carried, ~he minutes of last meeting were approved
as mailed.
Mayor Kidd opened the hearing on the proposed closing
of F Street.
NIEBLAS Mr. Albert Nieblas, owner of property adjacent to F Street
REQUEST and Mr. Earl Rowenhorst, representing the Tustin Water Works,
stated that in their opinion the easement as shown in the
Notices of Hearing as posted, should be limited, not to exceed
ten feet from the east line of said F Street.
On motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Bacon
and carried, the hearing was continued until the next regular
meeting of November 3rd in order to set up an easement
satisfactory to all parties involved.
REQUEST Temple Beth Sholom requested an extension to include the month
TEMPLE of November for solicitation of funds for advertising. Motion
BETH of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Byrd that the above
SHOLOM request be granted. Motion carried.
BEESON A letter of resignation from Arley E. Beeson as Civil Defense
RESIGNS Administrator was received, and on motion of Councilman Byrd,
CIVIL seconded by Councilman Humeston and carried, was accepted
DEFENSE effective as of this date.
POLICE Mayor Kidd appointed Chief of Police Johansen temporary Civil
CHIEF TO Defense. Administrator, to serve until a permanent Administrator
FILL IN is appointed

Mayor Kidd appointed Mayor Pro Tem Bacon to officiate in his
LIBRARY absence at the flagraising for the new County Branch Library
FLAG on Newport Avenue, on Saturday November 1, at 1:30 P. M.
RAISING
Mayor Kidd requested and was-given permission to leave the
MAYOR state for two weeks starting October 24, 1958, on motion of
KIDD Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Humeston and carried.
PACKER- After considerable discussion as to the best thing to do about
BODY the packer-body on the trash truck, Councilman Byrd was
instructed to make the best deal possible.
PANKEY A letter from Edgar E. Pankey requesting that Laguna Road be
REQUEST re-named Pankey Road, was referred to City Engineer McBride
to be taken up with the County Road Department, as a big
portion of Laguna Road is in County territory.
REQUEST The question of trash cans for certain street corners
FOR TRASH again came up, and Street Superintendent Johansen was
CANS. instructed to purchase two cans for trail purposes
before the next council meeting, on motion of Council-
man Humeston, seconded by Councilman Tadlock and
carried.
RE-ZONING The Council was notified that the Planning Commission
CERTAIN had approved the re-zoning of certain lots on B
AREAS Street and C Street between Main and Sixth Streets
and had referred the matter to them for final action.
On motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman
HEARING Byrd and carried, hearing on rezoning the above
ON SAME territory was set for the next regular meeting of the
Council, November 3, 1958 at 7:30 P. M.
Motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman
Tadlock that the bills be paid. Motion carried.
