HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1958 10 06 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL, OCTOBER 6th, 1958 COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Humeston, Bacon & Byrd. ABSENT : None. CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Rayden, present. The meeting was called to order at 7:40 P. M. by Mayor Kidd. On motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock and carried, the minutes of last meeting were approved as mailed. LETTER Mrs. Jerome, Secretary of the League of Cities, in a letter OF to Mayor Kidd, expressed the appreciation of this division APPRECI- of the League for the meeting on September 25th. ATION The Chamber of Commerce in a communication to the City CHAMBER Council offered to pay one-half of the cost of a shotgun OF COM- for the extra police car in appreciation of past favors MERCE from the Police Department. After some discussion it was decided OFFER TO that the city should purchase said gun not to exceed PAY ON $65.00 in cost and it was so approved and carried on SHOTGUN Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Bacon. LETTER On Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman TO C.C. Byrd and carried, the Clerk was instructed to send a letter of appreciation to the Chamber of Commerce for their offer to contribute towards the purchase of a shot- gun. ADOPTION Motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston OF RES. that RESOLUTION NO. 451 BE ADOPTED, RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. #451 450. Motion carried, all Councilmen voting Aye. Motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon RESOLU- that RESOLUTION NO. 452, "A Resolution of the City Council TION OF of the City of Tustin concerning the improvement of Second NO.452. Motion carried, all Councilmen Voting Aye. GRIFFITH Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Byrd CO. that the Clerk be authorized to draw a Warrant to the CONTRACT Griffith Company for completion of contract as specified FOR in RESOLUTION NO. 452, for the sum of $5,421.48. Completion, upon Certification by Engineer McBride that no leins or attachments have been filed. Motion carried. REQUEST City Engineer McBride reported on cost to the property ON LIGHT owners of installing ornamental light standards on Del Amo FOR DEL and Carfax. Motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman VACATION Bacon that RESOLUTION NO. 453, "A Resolution of the OF STREET City Council of the City of Tustin of intention to abandon and vacate a street within the City of Tustin pursuant to the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941," be adopted. Motion carried, all Councilmen voting Aye. Motion of Councilman Tadlock seconded by Councilman TRANSFER Humeston that the Treasurer of the City of Tustin OF FUNDS be authorized to transfer $6201.00 from the General Fund to the Traffic Safety Fund to cancel overdraft in the latter fund for the Fiscal Year 1958-59.
