REPAIR OF ASPHALTIC CONCRETE PAVEMENT
Several months ago, Council requested staff to investigate-the feasibility of
color matching the asphaltic concrete products utilized for pavement repair to
be~ter contrast with the existing pavement surfaces being repaired.
Staff has been unable to locate a manufacturer or source of asphaltic'concrete
suppliers that could provide a product of this type. These products are the type
utilized for crack sealing or pavement replacement.
If desirous, when the crack sealant material is utilized, a fog seal could be
applied to the entire surface area of the street within the limits of the crack
sealant work. ~his would only be a cosmetic, approach and provide a uniform
appearance for a limited amount of time. A second solution would be to apply a
slurry seal application to the streeet after the crack sealing process. This
would be a more permanent solution, but would also be costlier.
If COuncil needs any further information-regarding this matter, it is requested
that they so indicate.
